This typographic greeting card was designed for a competition with Langara College’s Creative Industries department. Each year, the department sponsors an event with Creative Mornings Vancouver and hands out student designed greeting cards to the attendees. My design was 1 out of 4 selected to represent Langara College and be distributed at the event.
Every Creative Mornings event operates under a theme and this event was dedicated to: Purpose. The objective of the project was to create a typographically interesting greeting card with at least 5 typefaces and make the words look like they were a part of the chosen image.
I used adobe illustrator effects on my typography to warp and shape them. From there, I placed the lettering on the image and applied photoshop techniques to distress and blend them into the background. Some of the tools I used were blending modes, masks, brushes, effects, the eraser, and adjustment sliders.
